Our Gardens

Youth Community Gardens has been working with schools and their students for over five years. We have three school garden locations where students help plant, maintain and watch grow, and harvest the produce. We believe that students who grow their own food will eat it!

In our gardens, we grow a variety of flowers, fruits and vegetables. For a garden experience, tour our virtual garden »

How schools benefit from our program? Through this program students are provided with hands-on lessons about farming and agriculture, sustaining natural resources, nutrition and healthy eating, and contributing to society through volunteering.

My garden rocks! Thank you Youth Community Gardens! — Elisabeth, age 8

Where does our produce go? We sell our garden produce through our youth farmer market. Our partner schools benefit from the proceeds. A share of the produce also goes to provide ingredients for partnering schools' cafeteria meals, and to local food banks.

Farmer Market

We host farmer market events each year from late May through September. Read more about our farmer market »
